appy Birthday Cancer! And welcome to your personal new year, which began with the Sun going into your sign on 21 June, marking the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere, the longest day, the triumph of light.

You’re in the thick of the planetary action this year and beyond, facing change and challenge on just about every front. Pluto’s making its way through opposite sign, Capricorn; Jupiter and Uranus have arrived at the top of your solar chart; and Saturn will revisit the bottom of your chart later in July. So plenty going on then! As those of you born in June in particular will be only too well aware.

But change is also an opportunity: in your case to expand your activities and develop new relationships, as well as build a foundation for the years ahead. You may find it hard to let go of certain people, although you probably have no choice; change is inevitable and on the whole it’s best to go along with it rather than resist it. But you’re canny, and your instincts will help you to steer a way through.

The Full Moon and lunar eclipse on 26 June is likely to be important for a relationship with a significant other; while 11 July marks a New Moon and total solar eclipse in your sign — a major turning point of the year. The events that occur around this time may send out ripples for months to come.

On a somewhat lighter note you can look forward to Venus’ prolonged stay in sister sign, Scorpio from 9 September to 7 January 2011, a period during which a project dear to your heart — or a romance — could flourish, with things likely to get particularly interesting between 8 October and 17 November.
