partner may behave more erratically than usual this week, but on the other hand it’ll keep you on your toes! Mercury’s withdrawal into Cancer may cause you to do something similar in order to mull over the year that’s passing and the one that will begin for you in less than three weeks’ time. Meanwhile Venus’ entry into compatible Gemini may bring you to the notice of people who matter from Sunday onwards.

July, August and September 2009

This being the quarter in which your birthday month falls makes it the start of your personal new year. Mercury heralds the arrival of the Sun in your sign on 23 July and Venus and Mars in compatible Gemini keep you in circulation well into August. Your social life takes off and you make new friends. Take note of the New Moon in Leo on 20 August — the only one of the year — and begin as you mean to go on.

The social note continues with the entry of Mercury into Libra on 26 August. You may find yourself setting out for somewhere (in more than one sense) only to retrace your steps between 7 and 29 September. Perhaps there are financial implications that need to be thought through? Saturn occupying the money sector of your solar chart since September 2007 has no doubt curbed your natural tendency to extravagance, but the stern taskmaster of the zodiac moves on later in the year.

With Jupiter and Neptune both travelling backwards in opposite sign, Aquarius this quarter, you get a chance to regroup where your most personal relationships are concerned; next quarter you can look forward to all moving on.

On a more serious note, Pluto’s standstill on 11 September marks a point at which you may decide that changes to your normal routine have become imperative in the interests of greater efficiency.
