Happy Birthday!

The Month Ahead with Stephanie Norris
Happy Birthday Aquarius!

W

elcome to your personal new year, which began with the Sun going into your sign on 20 January. Companionable Venus is close by, easing you into the first couple of weeks of a year that will see you move into exciting new territory.

Jupiter’s just departed your sign, bringing to an end 12 months that’s likely to have seen you expand your horizons in some sense or other; now the planet of excess and opportunity moves on to the money sector of your chart, meaning that the stuff none of us can do without should be in more plentiful supply. But watch a tendency to splash out on things you may not really need, or an overweening confidence that inclines you to underestimate the risks of an undertaking.

On 6 June Jupiter enters compatible Aries, preceded a few days before by Uranus, the planet that rules your sign; this is a hot spot of the year and is likely to see an explosion of activity involving new friends and groups of people. You may not be able to keep pace with yourself, there’ll be so much happening. But it’s all very stimulating.

Meanwhile Mars continues to travel backwards in opposite sign, Leo: you’re on a journey with someone (it began mid—October of last year) but you move on from 9 March. Saturn is also currently in reverse gear (until 30 May) which probably means you’re consolidating work begun towards the end of 2009. You may have to retrace your steps to some extent but it’s all the better to go forwards from September.

The New Moon in your sign on 14 February puts you on the starting block for a year that promises the resources you need to realise your dreams and ideals.

April, May and June 2009

Y

ou may think you’ve been on the road for a long time without really getting anywhere, but it’s more that you’ve taken a detour, for which there will be a reason (isn’t there always?). In any case the pace picks up in the second half of April, with Mars’ entry into compatible Aries helping to speed you on your way.

On 1 May Mercury the Messenger moves into fellow Air sign, Gemini, only a few days later to change his mind and retrace his steps. You may find yourself doing something similar! Perhaps the building blocks for what you want to do are not yet all in place and a rethink is called for. But from 1 June the lights are set to green again.

With both Saturn and Neptune changing direction in May finances are likely to top the agenda. Obligations to others may weigh heavy on your mind, but at the same time you may wish to fund a personal vision or dream. For those of you born towards the end of Aquarius in particular Jupiter at a standstill in your sign on 15 June marks a high point in a journey you began in January.

Throughout June there’s action on the domestic front, while with the influence of Uranus strong, it’s possible there may be some change in your financial situation by the end of the month.

January, February and March 2009

2009 is your year! Largely due to the entry of planet of growth and opportunity, Jupiter into your sign on 6 January, but also because Mercury opens the year in Aquarius (not to leave it until 8 March) and is joined on 5 February by action planet, Mars. Neptune has been there since 1998 and of course this being the quarter in which your birthday month falls, the Sun enters Aquarius on 20 January. To cap it all, there’s a New Moon and solar eclipse in Aquarius on 26th January. Wow!

What does all this mean? Quite simply, that this is the year to ‘go for’ it, whatever ‘it’ may mean to you. There will be many opportunities for you to spread your wings, both socially and professionally, and to connect with people of like mind. You may even between you succeed in making the world a better place!

With Venus in compatible Aries from February onwards you’re assured of fellow travellers on the path you choose to follow, although with both Mercury (11 January–1 February) and Venus (6 March onwards) going retrograde (backwards), you may have to double back more than once before you can steam full speed ahead (check back next quarter).

High–flying stuff, but practical necessities like earning a living and attending to the needs of partner and family will help to keep at least your feet on the ground (your head’s likely to be in the clouds).

October, November and December 2008

F

rom 4 October to 15 November with action planet, Mars up at the top of your solar chart, you may find yourself making a push on the career front. Strength of will and determination will help you to get ahead and achieve important objectives. You’re likely also to find, from mid–October onwards, that you’re able to proceed with a pet project, or a matter involving a partner that may have been stalled since late September.

There’s a lot going on in November, with Neptune in your sign and your ruling planet, Uranus going forwards, both events significant for the realisation of dreams and visions that may have been on hold for the last few months.

The New Moon on 27 November points the way to the future, particularly where a group you may belong to is concerned. You enter a new phase, that will take you in a new direction.

In December you may find yourself having to attend to the detail of arrangements and agreements involving others, but it’s in your and partners’ interests that everything is sorted out. However the presence of Venus in your sign suggests you’ll also be doing a lot of what you like best — socialising with friends both far and near.

July, August, September 2008

W

ith the planetary emphasis on Virgo throughout July and August, you’re likely to find yourself busy with financial paperwork and the detail of partnership agreements. You may feel a bit bogged down, but it will be worth your while to sort things out.

From 19 August when Mars, Mercury and Venus move on to fellow Air sign, Libra the energy has a lighter, more expansive feel. It’s a time to travel, make plans and perhaps embark on some ambitious project. A friend or partner is likely to be with you every step of the way. At the beginning of September your involvement with a group is likely to be at its height, but at the same time there’s an opportunity to move forward.

At the end of September you may be running to keep up with yourself, but Mercury going backwards gives you a chance to catch up from the 24th .

Of particular interest to you this quarter is the period between 1 August, when there’s a New Moon and solar eclipse in opposite sign, Leo; and 16 August, when there’s a Full Moon and lunar eclipse in your sign. It’s likely to represent a significant turning point in your career or a relationship.

April, May, June 2008

A

pril is a month for getting things out — ideas, documents — whatever it is that you have to say. Although by nature you’re an outgoing sign, there are important developments taking place behind the scenes and these will in some part be driving you. On another level you may also find that you’re more deeply involved than usual with family. On 20 April the first of two Full Moons in Scorpio falls at the top of your solar chart, marking a moment of accomplishment in your life.

May is a busy month, with the emphasis on finances. You’re likely to be preoccupied with ideas and ways to make money, and with striking a balance between your obligations to others and doing something new. Flexibility is the watchword. But try to close any transactions or sign any contracts before Mercury goes backwards from 26 May (until 19 June).

Mars in opposite sign, Leo from 10 May onwards may bring a new partner into your life, or open a new phase in an existing relationship. The second Full Moon in Scorpio, on 20 May, is likely to show you where you’re going with it.

On 27 June your ruling planet Uranus about–turns, in order to go backwards: a peak moment, when you may feel under pressure to make a change that’s been building for some time.

January, February and March 2008

T

his quarter is notable for Mercury spending a large part of it in your sign. The planet of the mind enters Aquarius on 8 January and doesn’t leave until 14 March. In between Mercury goes retrograde, or backwards, from 28 January to 19 February. So this is a period to action your ideas, particularly those whose time has come; on a more personal level, you may find yourself doing a deal of thinking about your relationship with the significant others in your life.

Mars in fellow Air sign, Gemini as this quarter begins hastens the process: a project or a relationship with which you got so far and no further last September, you may find yourself taking up again and progressing. This is likely to bear fruit in March and April.

Pluto joining Jupiter in Capricorn marks the beginning of a period when
you may find yourself altering course, the cumulative effect of years of activity in the outer world and interaction with other people. Now on some level you may strive to put into effect all you have learned. This may also make a difference to how you present yourself and your relationship with members of your family.

The New Moon and solar eclipse in your sign on 7 February is likely to throw light on the way ahead, in an inner as well as an outer sense.

October, November and December 2007

A

s this quarter opens you may find yourself at the start of a project or a journey that’s likely to take you longer than you had bargained for. This is due to Mercury travelling backwards between 12 October and 1 November, when in some sense you may have to retrace your steps. With Mars also slowing down prior to going backwards, the first half of November is likely to see you flat out on the work front. Perseverance is the name of the game; what you stick at for the rest of this year and into the next will come to fruition in the spring of 2008.

This is also the quarter that Neptune in your sign and your ruling planet, Uranus both go forwards, an indication that now is the moment to proceed with plans for the long term, of both a mundane and spiritual nature. The New Moon on 9 November encourages new beginnings and by the Full Moon on the 24th these are already likely to have made an impact on your finances.

Talking of which Saturn at a standstill on 19 December marks the beginning of a four–month review of partnership finances, in the interests of getting them in better shape; while Jupiter’s entry into Capricorn on the same day ushers in a year when important developments will take place behind the scenes.

July, August, September 2007

A

t the beginning of July you may find yourself giving a lot of thought to a project you’ve been working on with someone else. But from 10 July you’re on the home straight with this and by early August will have moved on.

There’s a lot of activity in your opposite sign, Leo in August. Someone may come back into your life or you may find yourself retracing your steps in a relationship. This emphasis on significant others continues for the rest of this quarter.

Mars’ entry into fellow Air sign, Gemini lifts your spirits from 7 August onwards. The ideas that come so easily and quickly could take you far, perhaps down a road you have not travelled before.

With your ruling planet, Uranus a long–term resident in the money sector of your solar chart, your financial situation may have been somewhat volatile in the last few years, but Saturn’s move into Virgo offers stability from 3 September onwards. Key to this, though, will be a partnership or an agreement you enter into. It will be important to dot the i’s and cross the t’s.

Four days later Pluto goes forward in compatible Sagittarius; you’re on your way to completing a phase of your life that has seen you grow through a group with which you’ve been involved. But you’re not quite done yet. For that you’ll have to wait until next year.

April, May and June 2007

T

he emphasis on relationships carries over from last quarter. On the one hand you and a group of people you may be involved with scale some kind of summit early in April; on the other you reach a turning point in a significant partnership later in the month. Over the last four months you’ve had a chance to review where you stand with each other; now you can move on to a new phase of your relationship.

Mars’ sojourn in the money sector of your solar chart from 6 April to 15 May motivates you to put yourself out there with a view to boosting your income. The Full Moon on 2 May is likely to see you at full stretch; flexible thinking and an appreciation of other people’s point of view will help you to maximise the moment.

The New Moon on 16 May represents a new beginning for you; with Neptune at a standstill in your sign a few days later listen to your intuition and what it tells you.

In June you may find yourself revisiting a project or a relationship which will take you well into the next quarter. There’s a fun element to this that you’re likely to enjoy. On the 23rd Uranus, the planet that rules your sign, comes to a halt, a moment when you’re particularly open to creative solutions to any problems that may present themselves.

January, February and March 2007

M

uch of the emphasis this quarter is on relationships, the big picture and the detail that goes to make it up. On the one hand Neptune in your sign may fog the picture, so that you don’t see clearly what is going on between you and significant others; on the other Saturn in opposite sign, Leo may be handing out some pretty heavy lessons. All this quarter Saturn’s retrograde (backwards) which gives you a chance to review where you stand vis–à–vis friends and partners.

Meanwhile Mercury spends most of this quarter toing and froing between your sign and Pisces. If you’re working on a project with one or more people, much of your time may be spent sorting out practicalities, such as who pays for what. The same may go for a personal relationship. Key dates are 14 February and 8 March, after which you move on, in more than one sense.

The Full Moon in opposite sign, Leo on 2 February may help you to see what is really going on in a relationship, while the New Moon in your sign on 17 February is your cue to make a fresh start from the highest of motives. Begin as you mean to go on.

October, November, December 2006

T

his is a big quarter for you, dominated by the changes of sign of three major planets and an emphasis throughout October and November in particular on your career or whatever else takes you out into the world.
The crowd of planets up at the top of your solar chart is really going to concentrate your mind and energy on where you want to get to and how. On 28 October Mercury turns its face to the way it has travelled, marking a moment to review your progress. With Neptune in your sign going forwards the next day you’re likely to be preoccupied with how your actions can benefit others as well as yourself.

On 18 November Mercury goes forwards again, followed two days later by your ruling planet Uranus. It’s all systems go; you’ll be putting your money where your mouth is. On 24 November Jupiter arrives in your solar sector of dreams and wishes; through a group with which you’re involved some of these may come true in the next 12 months or so.

In early December you may find yourself having to make a decision about a relationship particularly if you were born 12—14 February: do you continue with it or not? If the answer’s no then you may have served your purpose in each other’s life; if it’s yes then you may be prepared to make a more lasting commitment to each other.

July, August, September 2006

T

he beginning of this quarter may find you at full stretch as Jupiter comes to a standstill, with more opportunities to advance your career and goals in life than you may feel able to keep up with. Key to your success are your relationships, with partners, friends and colleagues. Ever since Saturn entered your opposite sign, Leo a year ago, you’ve become acutely aware of the people who really matter to you, and have probably been working hard to maintain those relationships.

This is something you may well find yourself pondering from 4 to 29 July, when Mercury travels backwards and you may find yourself teaming up with an old colleague in order to finish a piece of work. Throughout most of this quarter the two relationship planets, Venus and Mars, occupy the relationship sectors of your solar chart: a double statement, if you like, to pay attention to this area of your life. You’re a person to whom friendship is very important, so much so that sometimes you tend to overlook your more personal, intimate relationships. But it’s unlikely you’ll be able to do that this quarter; indeed, you may come to appreciate the value of these relationships in a way you hadn’t before.

The New Moon in Leo on 25 July is your cue to start afresh in one particular relationship; by the Full Moon on 9 August you should have an idea of where you’re going with it.

April, May and June 2006

F

or the last few months you may have found yourself reviewing a relationship with a significant other. Ever since Saturn entered your opposite sign, Leo in July of last year, you have had to face up to what is really going on in your relationships. As a result you may have put distance between you and someone else, or you may even have decided to separate for a while; but from 5 April, you turn a corner: it’s as if a process is now complete and you can both go forwards to the next stage.

In this quarter two important planets for you change direction: Neptune, currently in your sign, on 22 May and Uranus, your ruling planet on 19 June.
Around the former you may be inspired to carry out an act of altruism regardless of what it may cost you; and around the latter something may happen that brings income in from a new source.
The New Moon on 27 April prompts you to make a new start in both an outer and inner sense that’s likely to have repercussions for your career or place in the world. All will become clear around the Full Moon on 13 May.

January, February and March 2006

Y

ou’re in the thick of it this first quarter of 2006, as the Sun and Mercury join Neptune in your sign, making with Mars in Taurus, Jupiter in Scorpio and Saturn in Leo, a cross in the fixed signs. You’re challenged on all fronts — at home, at work and in your relationships — but this is nothing new and by now you should be battle–hardened. If anything, you’re probably more determined than ever to win through, so this is a time when you can actually make considerable headway in your life, despite the obstacles. You’ll be the stronger for it.

The period between the New Moon in your sign on 29 January and the Full Moon on 13 February is an important one for new starts and where they will take you. A maximum effort now could really get you off the starting block, so begin as you mean to go on.

Mars’ departure for fellow Air sign, Gemini on 18 February should ease the pressure on you, particularly on the domestic front and spur you on to new creative projects. The following wind stays with you for the rest of this quarter. Your ruling planet, Uranus continues to make waves in the money sector of your solar chart, but you won’t be short of ideas to stay buoyant financially.

October, November and December 2005

N

eptune in your own sign, Saturn in your opposite sign, Leo, Mars in Taurus and from 26 October, Jupiter in Scorpio — with all the angles of your solar chart activated, this is a dynamic and challenging time for you.

As this quarter opens, Mars begins a backwards journey that may find you retracing your steps on some level in order the better to go forwards from 10 December. Meanwhile Neptune goes forwards in your sign on 26 October, a cue from the cosmos to proceed with your most cherished dreams and ambitions; while on 22 November a relationship comes to a crux as Saturn goes backwards. To cap it all, Jupiter is strewing opportunities in your career path. You’re at full stretch but the energy of this fixed cross in the skies takes you onwards and upwards.

The New Moon of 2 November is your cue to make some kind of important new beginning; by the Full Moon on 16 November it will be clear where it is leading you.

Between 14 November and 4 December you may find yourself revisiting a place or a relationship; while Venus’s entry into your sign on 15 December introduces an idea or a person that will reappear next year.

July, August, September 2005

T

his quarter an important pattern begins to take shape in the skies and therefore, according to that most ancient of laws — as above, so below — in your life. On 16 July Saturn enters your opposite sign, Leo and on 28 July Mars arrives at the bottom of your solar chart. With Neptune already in place in your sign, your life starts to take on an intensity of purpose that may have been missing from it before. What you build now, on all levels, will be significant for your career, any groups with which you’re involved and ultimately for your long–term goals. You’ll get a better idea of where it’s all leading next quarter, when Jupiter moves into Scorpio and completes the picture.

Throughout July and August you may find yourself doing a lot of thinking about relationships, and it’s important to get clear about who really matters in your life. Over the next couple of years the investment you make in these relationships will pay off for you in one way or another.

The period between 5 and 19 August is likely to be a particularly charged one for you, when you’ll feel under pressure to meet not only your own expectations, but also the expectations of others.

April, May, June 2005

M

ars in your sign gives you a head of steam throughout April, making this a month to pursue your objectives, especially after the 12th, when Mercury starts travelling forwards again. Your thinking is sharp and focused; you’re also motivated to get your ideas out. Jupiter travelling through fellow Air sign, Libra indicates that the next seven months is a period of enormous intellectual and social expansion for you, when you can travel far towards your goals. You’ll get an idea of just how far roundabout 5 June.

Meanwhile around 19 May, when Neptune comes to a halt in your sign before retracing its steps in the heavens, finances may become an issue between you and a partner. It will be particularly important at this time to make sure you each understand where the other is coming from. Uranus in the financial sector of your solar chart continues to create changes in the way that you earn your income; you will fare best if you look at new ways of making money, even if they do seem a bit earth–shattering. From the beginning of May until well into June, Mars gives you an added incentive to do something about your financial situation.

January, February and March 2005

Y

ou coast into 2005 under full sail as Jupiter cruises through your fellow Air sign, Libra. Around 2 February when this expansive planet comes to a standstill will be a highly social time for you, as well as one when you’re likely to enjoy the fulfilment of some long–cherished goal. Jupiter travels backwards for the next four months, so you may have to wait until the beginning of June to go on to the next stage of the journey you’re currently on, but after that it’s full steam ahead.

The New Moon in Aquarius on 8 February is at the centre of a line–up that includes no less than five planets in your sign. With this accumulation of energy behind you, you will be able well and truly to launch yourself on your personal new year.

Your ancient ruler, Saturn continues to keep your nose to the grindstone, but from 22 March you’ll be able to go forwards with something into which you’ve put a great deal of work. Meanwhile your modern ruler, Uranus may be making waves where your finances are concerned, but at least it’s giving you new ideas for ways to make money.

The beginning of March may see you fired up with enthusiasm for a project which is likely to keep you on the go into early May. You’ll find yourself particularly busy with it around 20 March and 12 April, after which you’ll be on the home straight.

October, November, December 2004

Y

ou’re in your element as this quarter opens, with so many planets in fellow Air sign, Libra, including expansive Jupiter. You’ve embarked on a journey and over the following year, you’ll have lots of opportunities to explore different ideas with people you meet up with for the purpose.

Late October/early November is an action–packed time for you. Both your ruling planet, Uranus and Neptune, currently in your sign, start moving forwards again, indicating that a phase in your life where you’ve consolidated your financial position within a partnership is complete, and you’re ready to move on.

On 11 November Mars moves into Scorpio, there to be joined shortly by Venus: with this magnetic duo holding sway at the top of your solar chart, the rest of this quarter is very much a time to get your message across—you’ll make a favourable impression.

Your sign is particularly associated with groups and it is through your involvement with a particular group or groups that in recent years you have experienced the deepest changes in your life. Now you find yourself busy with the practical details of running a group, an activity from which you will derive a lot of satisfaction.

July, August, September 2004

I

f you want to know what this quarter’s all about for you, pay attention to what happens at the Full Moon on 31 July and the New Moon on 16 August. They will certainly give you a good idea of what’s going on in your relationships, and with Neptune meandering through your sign at the moment, you may not always be as clear about them as you would like to be.

Meanwhile your ruling planet, Uranus may be creating a certain amount of havoc on the financial or property front, but you’re smart enough to realise that it’s your own restlessness and desire for change that’s driving it. Your values may also be changing; whether you’re conscious of it or not, you seek to make more space for the spiritual in your life and you will not be at peace with yourself until you have.

Do not expect things to go according to plan in August. Rather than attempt to get a new project or relationship off the ground, make sure you’re all set to move on from early September. At the end of that month Jupiter moves into fellow Air sign, Libra and you can look forward to a year when your mind and consciousness will be greatly expanded by your travels, studies and the people you meet. Now that’s right up your street.

April, May, June 2004

Y

ou’re in your element as the second quarter of 2004 opens. The reason? (you always need a reason) — Venus joins Mars in fellow Air sign, Gemini. This is a very creative combination of energies, so crack on with a project dear to your heart. Single Aquarians — you’ll be in romantic mode, while Aquarian parents – make time for play with your children, it’s a fun way for both of you to learn.

From mid–April to mid–May Mercury will keep you busy in quick–thinking Aries; on 16 May it enters the more cautious sign of Taurus, signalling it’s time to consolidate your ideas, so put them down in concrete form in the next three weeks or so.

Meanwhile early in May Jupiter begins the second leg of its journey through Virgo; while on 10 June Uranus starts travelling backwards in the other financial sector of your solar chart. You’re likely to find yourself in intense discussions with your partner about finances at this time, as a result of which you may decide to make some changes.

On 17 May Neptune also starts going backwards in your sign; those of you born 3–5 February in particular may have a peak experience, which will serve to illumine your path in life.

January, February, March 2004

T

he reign of Uranus in your sign is finally over — eight years in which your independent, innovative and sometimes, it has to be said, eccentric, not to say downright wacky ideas have enjoyed an unusually high profile. Uranus has now moved on to Pisces and with Jupiter currently in the other money sector of your solar chart, you can expect changes in the way that you earn your income. You or your partner may also be the lucky recipient of a bonus or windfall.

Meanwhile Neptune continues to meander through your sign; those of you born at the beginning of February in particular will be especially susceptible to its subtle influence this quarter. Your sign tends to be associated with left–brain, logical thinking, but Neptune is helping to open up the right, intuitive side of your brain.

As 2004 opens you may well find yourself dashing here, there and everywhere in pursuit of your goals.Mid–January, however, the pace steadies and towards the end of that month, you’ll be able to move past the brick wall you may have come up against at the end of last year. Overall you continue to enjoy the support of Pluto in compatible Sagittarius for your long–term ambitions.
