The Month Ahead with Stephanie Norris For Capricorn, 21st December 2004 – 20th January 2005
he day before the Sun moves into your sign, Mercury goes forwards, underlining the fact that a new year is beginning for you. You’ve been doing a lot of thinking about where you’re going; now you’re ready to make a move. On 26 December there’s a Full Moon in your opposite sign, Cancer, highlighting relationships and lending an edge of excitement to your dealings with others.
This is a time when you may have to pull out all the stops to achieve your goals, but at the same time you should be enjoying considerable success. On 7 January you may exceed your own expectations, while on 13 January you may be all too aware of the obstacles you have still to overcome. In between, on 10 January there’s a New Moon in your sign, aligned with both Jupiter and Saturn. This is a really important New Moon for you because it’s the only one of the year that occurs in your sign, so resolve to begin as you mean to go on. The entry of first Venus, then Mercury into Capricorn will help you to assess where you’re at in your life and where you want to go, with that realism that always stands you in such good stead.
April, May, June 2008
pril opens with a surge of energy, encouraging you to forge ahead on all fronts. For those of you born at the very beginning of your sign (22–24 December) profound changes are taking shape in your life, but Pluto going backwards from the 2nd gives you a chance over the next six months to prepare the ground. Meanwhile those of you born later (10–13 January) have planet of good fortune, Jupiter, strewing opportunities for growth and expansion in your path.
May is a busy and productive month. On the 3rd Saturn goes forwards in sister sign, Virgo, marking the beginning of another phase in a journey you embarked on last September, which is taking you far towards an important goal. Mercury’s entry into Gemini at the same time is a signal that a project (or two) will keep you on the go well into July, while the New Moon in the other Earth sign, Taurus on the 6th may put your heart’s desire — whether a promotion or a romance — within easy reach.
The second half of June lends itself to the tying up of loose ends, the better to free yourself up and go on your way, with a view to where you would like to be in six months’ time.
January, February and March 2008
upiter entered your sign just before the end of last year and will stay in it all of this year. On 26 January Pluto also enters Capricorn, making 2008 a year of opportunity and a year of change. This is a moment you’ve been travelling towards for many years, so in one sense it represents a culmination of all that you’ve worked for; in another an opportunity to draw a line under the past and move on to something else.
Meanwhile your ruling planet, Saturn supports long–range plans and objectives from sister Earth sign, Virgo; currently going backwards, it may see you revising and reviewing these, but that’s all the better to go forwards from early May.
With Mars in opposite sign, Cancer for all of last quarter, you’re likely to have had a personal challenge to contend with, but the work that you and a partner do in January and February will help you to advance from 4 March onwards.
Mercury tos and fros in the money sector of your solar chart for most of this quarter; if you haven’t closed a financial or property transaction by 28 January, you may have to wait until after 19 February to complete it.
Take note of what happens around the Full Moon on 21 March: it’s likely to show you where initiatives you’ve taken this quarter are leading, with implications for later in the year.
October, November and December 2007
project you’ve taken on may take you on a journey throughout October and November but it’s likely to deepen your involvement with a particular group of people. With Venus in sister sign, Virgo you’ll enjoy the warmth of their companionship.
Of special interest to you this quarter is Mars’ long transit of your opposite sign, Cancer: through your interaction with the significant others in your life you may learn new things about yourself and make more progress towards your goals than you would on your own. Take note of what happens because you’ll be going forwards from it in some sense in March and April next year, when Mars will again be in Cancer.
With Saturn now in sister sign, Virgo you should find the path you’ve embarked on easier and from 19 December you’ll have a chance to review the progress you’ve made. This is also the day that Jupiter arrives in your sign, introducing a year of expansion with opportunities to spread your wings socially, professionally and spiritually.
The Full Moon in Cancer on 24 December marks a moment to celebrate the year that’s ending with friends and family. There’s nothing like sharing a feast with your nearest and dearest to put things in perspective.
July, August, September 2007
uly’s a busy month for you. You may find yourself putting the finishing touches to a project you began at the end of May but you move on from 10 July. Five days later Venus enters sister sign, Virgo only to slide back into Leo in early August. You’ve got some more work to do before you go on your way. There may be something to sort out with a partner, particularly of a financial nature. But Mars in the other Earth sign, Taurus ensures July won’t be all work and no play: there’s fun to be had in the romantic department, too.
Although you’re a worldly sign you may be on something of a spiritual journey. This quarter you’re facing the direction of travel and by the end of this year/beginning of next you will have arrived at an important new destination. Meanwhile Mars, which arrives in Gemini on 7 August, keeps you busy on the work front for the rest of this quarter.
The last couple of years or so may have been a struggle financially, although at the same time it has to be said your tax affairs and arrangements with others have probably never been in better order, but from 3 September you leave this phase of your life behind. Your ruling planet Saturn’s entry into Virgo supports you in your endeavours to get somewhere, making the next couple of years in particular an immensely productive time for you.
April, May and June 2007
he inner journey you’ve been on since the beginning of last December comes to a peak around 6 April, which may be a moment of revelation for you. Later in the month your ruling planet, Saturn starts going forwards again, on the last leg of its journey through Leo. The last four months have been a period of financial consolidation; now you can begin to plan the future, in both a personal and financial sense.
Socially this is a busy quarter for you. Mars gets you out and about until the middle of May, when it arrives in Aries, galvanising you into action on both the inner and outer level. Friends may come calling and your home is likely to be a centre of activity for the rest of this quarter.
Just before the end of May Mercury sidles into opposite sign, Cancer where it tos and fros until the beginning of August. You may do this, too, with a relationship or a project. In some sense you’ll have to revisit the past, but from 10 July you move on.
Before that Uranus comes to a standstill, a turning point on the road you’re currently travelling. You’re usually considered to be fairly conventional, but this is a time to embrace the new.
On the very last day of this quarter there’s a Full Moon in your sign, a moment of culmination in any discussion or negotiation you may be having with a partner.
January, February and March 2007
he arrival of Mars in your sign on 17 January will help you to get going early in the new year. The planet of action is in Capricorn until the end of February and will give a welcome boost to your energy levels. This is the time to get new initiatives off the ground and to take steps towards realising your ambitions for 2007.
You’ll be on the go in one sense or another throughout February and March. You may literally find yourself taking more trips than usual, or you may be preoccupied with a project that has come round again. It’s in your interests both financially and careerwise to complete it.
Finances remain on the agenda, with Saturn in one money sector of your solar chart and Neptune in the other. You may be feeling the pinch, but at the same time you won’t be short of reasons to spend money. Later this year Saturn moves on and things get easier financially.
Beneath the surface of life, there’s a lot going on. You’re on a journey that at the end of the year will lead to the beginning of a whole new cycle in your life. More will be revealed around the eclipses of 3 and 19 March. There may be a few surprises in store.
October, November, December 2006
his quarter opens on a highly social note, which is likely to be enjoyable in itself but there’s more to it than that. You’re seeking something else, something deeper, that will give meaning to your life, an intent or purpose that will lift it above the ordinary. So the contacts you make will be very important from the point of view of opening you up to new ideas and new experiences. A group you join or are part of may play a key part in this respect.
However you’re too much of a realist to neglect the material side of life. The changes of direction (going forward) by Neptune in October and Uranus in November are a sign that you may find yourself spending money on something perhaps you wouldn’t normally, like a course or a trip somewhere. Jupiter’s move to one of the more hidden sectors of your solar chart on 24 November is another indication that you’re likely to find yourself on something of a spiritual journey over the next 12 months or so.
On 6 December your ruling planet Saturn comes to rest, marking a defining point in a relationship with a significant other, particularly from a financial point of view. It’s all part of a process that began more than a year ago, when you realised the importance of getting clear where you stand vis—à—vis certain other people in your life.
July, August, September 2006
ou tend to be very much concerned with the material world, but as this quarter opens you may find that your involvement with a spiritual group of some kind is at its height. Certainly the people you meet on your travels are likely to open you up to new ways of looking at the world.
The emphasis on partnerships continues; it will be clear to you who are the people who matter in your life, and important to get things straight between you, so that you both know where you stand. In July you have the chance to complete unfinished business with someone, left over from the previous quarter; in August to dot the i’s and cross the t’s of a contract or other agreement.
There’s also an emphasis this quarter on travel, whether literally or in the mind. With both Venus and Mars in sister sign, Virgo — Mars from 23 July to 7 September, Venus from 6 September — you’ve every encouragement to pursue a course of study or go on a journey of some kind from which you stand to gain a lot, not least a greater understanding of yourself. During this voyage of self–discovery you’re likely to encounter many like–minded souls, whose company will be a delight to you.
The New Moons in Virgo on 23 August and 22 September mark important stages in this journey, when you have the opportunity to make some kind of new start that will take you far along your path.
April, May and June 2006
ver since your ruling planet, Saturn entered Leo last July, you’re likely to have been sorting out your finances, especially those that involve a partner. In this position in your solar chart Saturn requires that you discard any investments that are no longer working for you and concentrate on those that are. At the beginning of April you move forwards from this period of consolidation to the next phase of the business plan, one that will take you all the way up to the end of this year.
At the same time you may find yourself spending money on things of a more spiritual nature, like workshops, courses or even treatments that improve your sense of well–being. You’re likely to be particularly prone to this in May and June.
From 14 April to 3 June, when Mars is in Cancer, you may meet opposition from significant others to what you want to do, but if you rise to the challenge you may be surprised by what you can achieve. With the other social sectors of your solar chart also activated, in this quarter your social life is likely to take a stimulating new turn.
The New Moon in your opposite sign on 25 June may see you embarking on a new relationship or a new phase of an existing relationship.
January, February and March 2006
he return of Venus to your sign on 2nd January makes for a warm welcome to the new year. Planet of charm and connections, Venus has been resident in Capricorn since early November for all but a couple of weeks. This has brought you to the fore both professionally and socially and the trend is set to continue into early March. In your sign Venus has an eye to the main chance and during this period you’re likely to make contacts that could prove highly advantageous to you.
Mars has similarly been favouring you from sister Earth sign, Taurus since the end of July and will continue to spur you on to new creative endeavours well into February. You have a reputation for keeping your nose to the grindstone, but with both Venus and Mars so well disposed in your solar chart, this is a time that romance is likely to flourish.
You’re on something of a journey at the moment, marked by exciting encounters and thought–provoking discoveries, but you’re sensible enough not to neglect the material side of life. Holding everything together may be a challenge, but from 29 January you have a chance to put a partnership on a new financial footing that will help to underpin your security. The secret of success lies in accommodating your spiritual needs with the requirement to maintain a roof over your head — keeping body and soul together, you might say. This will become clear to you by 13 February.
October, November and December 2005
his quarter kicks off with a pair of eclipses that may open up a new path for you. The New Moon on 3 October augurs well for new financial beginnings, while the Full Moon on 17 October illuminates opportunities for you to expand your spiritual horizons. Some of these may come about through your involvement with groups of all kinds, particularly from 26 October, when Jupiter arrives in compatible Scorpio for a 13—month stay. On the same day Neptune begins moving forwards again, a sign to follow a dream that you may have been nursing since May. Even your day—to—day life has at this time an element of the unexpected that keeps you on your toes.
Throughout this quarter you may find yourself working very hard in partnership with someone else to attain an important goal. You reach a key juncture in the enterprise around 22 November, when your ruling planet, Saturn comes to a standstill before retracing its steps.
With both Venus and Mars active in your solar chart, you can expect a lively few months on the relationship front. Notice who arrives in your life around 5 November — they may be around for a while. Meanwhile Mars’ stations at the beginning and end of this quarter indicate that your romantic life will not be without its moments.
You have a reputation for working hard, but this is a quarter to play hard, too.
July, August, September 2005
his is the quarter you finally get to say goodbye to Saturn in Cancer. It’s been in your opposite sign since June 2003, a period during which you may (legitimately) have felt that you carried more than your fair share of responsibility towards the significant others in your life. By the Full Moon in your sign on 21 July you should really be clear about who is in your life to stay and who is not.
The entry of your ruling planet into Leo shifts the focus to your investment portfolio, tax matters and partnership finances. Over the next couple of years or so it will pay you to take another look at these. With Neptune currently in the other financial sector of your solar chart, you may want to consider investing in companies, if you do not already, that meet certain ethical or environmental criteria.
Meanwhile the entry of Mars into Taurus on 28 July ushers in a period during which you’ll be able to forge ahead with your own projects, whether domestic, social or creative. Mars will not leave your sister Earth sign until February 2006, so this will be a productive, as well as enjoyable, time for you.
April, May, June 2005
pril is a busy month on the domestic front. With Mercury going forwards from the 12th, something that’s been on the back–burner for a while may finally reach completion. The New Moon and solar eclipse four days earlier signifies a turning point in your domestic affairs that may have repercussions for your career. With Jupiter currently travelling through this sector of your solar chart, there are plenty of opportunities around to expand your sphere of operations, particularly from 5 June onwards.
Saturn, your ruling planet, is on the last leg of its journey through your opposite sign, Cancer: take note those of you with birthdays in the second and third weeks of December. This is your chance to complete any unfinished business with a significant other and move on in July, when Saturn departs for Leo.
There’s a fluid element to your financial situation, particularly around 19 May, when you may be tempted to spend more than you actually have; and also around 14 June, when there may be an unexpected call on your budget. However no doubt you’ll ride the wave — it takes a lot to loosen your grip on reality! June is a pretty social month, when you’ll enjoy seeing friends both old and new.
January, February and March 2005
ou’re likely to find yourself building to a pinnacle of success at the start of 2005, but whether secular or spiritual it’s hard to tell. Perhaps it will be a combination of both and you’ll reap some kind of material reward for your efforts to make the world a better place for others. The prominence of Jupiter in your solar chart and the gifts it brings should go some way towards offsetting the challenge of your ruling planet, Saturn in your opposite sign, Cancer. You’re not one to shirk your responsibilities, but since June 2003 you may have felt that you’ve had more than your fair share of burdens to bear, particularly where one significant other is concerned. Take comfort from the fact that in July Saturn moves on and you’ll be able to see just what you have to show for all your hard work.
At the beginning of March Mercury takes up residence at the bottom of your solar chart. Over the next two months you may undertake some kind of project at home that will revolve around the key dates of 20 March and 12 April. Towards the end of March even your more than usually capable hands will be full as you juggle home with career and the demands of others with your own needs. However at the same time you’re likely to be able to see the way ahead more clearly than at other times.
October, November, December 2004
ou’re nearly done with the passage of Saturn through Cancer, but not quite. On 8 November your ruling planet stops just short of leaving your opposite sign and it’s the turn of those of you born around 16 — 18 January to experience a test of your resolve. What transpires at this time may have a feeling of inevitability about it, and although in some sense you may have to go over ground you’ve already covered, in the longer term it will be worth it.
In the meantime the conglomeration of planets at the very top of your solar chart makes October a month when you should shine professionally. Jupiter, planet of good fortune is there for the next 12 months, a period during which you’ll have many opportunities to expand your sphere of operations and excel at whatever you do best. You may also receive some honour in recognition of where you’ve arrived at in your life and what you’ve achieved to get there.
Amidst all the outer activity, though, you may find yourself on something of a spiritual quest. For all the worldly success you may enjoy, you’re looking for answers to deeper things, mysteries you may have been exploring for some time. Your quest reaches a peak at the end of November and again on 20 December, when you’re likely to reach a decision on where your path lies.
July, August, September 2004
ou’re probably resigned by now to the fact that you’re in for the long haul where one particular relationship is concerned, but you also know that effort and persistence pay off in the long term. With your ruling planet, Saturn, ensconced in your opposite sign, Cancer, you really have no option at the moment but to concentrate on your relationships. It should be clear to you by now which are worth investing your time and energy in and which are not.
However life, even for an ambitious, responsible Capricorn, is not all work and no play. Throughout July you have the chance to have fun with someone special, whether you stay at home or go away. With Mercury and Mars moving on to Virgo, you may find yourself on a journey of one kind or another for the rest of this quarter. Between 10 August and 2 September, while on your travels, you may run into someone from your past.
On 25 September Jupiter leaves sister Earth sign, Virgo and moves to the top of your solar chart. Over the following year you will have many opportunities to advance your ambitions, both worldly and spiritual. Knowing you, you will not miss the chance to maximise them.
