Happy Birthday!

The Month Ahead with Stephanie Norris
For Virgo, 22th August — 22nd Spetember 2004

W

ith the Sun, Mars and Jupiter all in your sign, you should have bags of energy as your birthday month begins. Which is perhaps just as well, because there is so much happening in your life, on both the personal and professional level. You may have moved house or changed jobs—a manifestation on the outer level of profound change on the inner.

This is because Pluto, planet of transformation is in challenging alignment with your sign and will be for another few years yet. The period 9 — 13 September is a particularly charged one for you, because you will be motivated to realise your ambitions almost regardless of the cost to others. However you’re more likely to be successful in your aims if you enlist their cooperation. The re—entry of your ruling planet, Mercury into your sign on 10 September will help you to take a pragmatic point of view.

Your sign is associated with attention to detail, but Jupiter in your sign has made you aware of the bigger picture. On 25 September Jupiter moves on into Libra: time for you, too, to move on and begin consolidating the many new ideas you’ve had over the last 12 months. Among other things, it could enlarge your bank balance.

January, February and March 2008

T

his quarter opens with Saturn in your sign, Jupiter in sister Earth sign, Capricorn and Pluto also due to enter Capricorn on 26 January. With such powerful allies, there’s really nothing you cannot achieve if you set your mind to it. Saturn helps you to clear out anything that no longer serves a purpose in your life, making space for opportunities to develop personally and professionally; while Pluto spells long–term change in how you express yourself and whom you relate to.

With Mars backtracking through Gemini and Mercury through Aquarius, an important project is likely to keep you on the go throughout January and February. There may be details to iron out before everything slots into place, but then you’re on your way again. At the beginning of March fellow–travellers come on board for the journey.

With the New Moon/solar eclipse on 7 February you may find yourself travelling more of an inner or spiritual path, although you’re unlikely to be alone; while the Full Moon/lunar eclipse on 21 February may strengthen your determination to reach your goal, whatever that may be.

On 7 March the New Moon in opposite sign, Pisces, falling close to Uranus may see the beginning of a new partnership or a new chapter opening in an existing relationship.

October, November and December 2007

W

ith your ruling planet, Mercury going backwards on 12 October there may be complications of a practical or financial nature with a project you’ve embarked on, but from the beginning of November these will be behind you. At the same time Venus returns to your sign, enabling you to pick up where you left off towards the end of July.

Mars in compatible Cancer all quarter long acts as a spur to attaining your objectives but from 15 November you may find yourself retracing your steps. There’s a reason for this that may lie in what happened around mid–September. It may feel as though you’re on something of a quest but you’ll have companions along the way.

Saturn is now in your sign until July 2010, marking a period during which you’re likely to redefine your sense of self and where you stand vis–à–vis others. This is also a time when you may produce something that you will be proud to call your own.

Meanwhile Uranus’ about–turn in opposite sign, Pisces on 24 November may see you or a partner make a move whose moment has come, particularly if you were born around 7–13 September. And Jupiter’s entry into sister sign, Capricorn on 19 December introduces a year of opportunities for growth in both your personal and professional life.

July, August, September 2007

A

s this quarter opens you’re in the middle of something that you began at the end of May but from 10 July you’re on the home straight. A few days later Venus arrives in your sign, promising new developments in relationships, but you may have to wait until next quarter for them to come to fruition: on 9 August Venus retreats into Leo, from which she doesn’t emerge until 8 September. You may find yourself on an inner journey of some kind, one on which you reassess and reevaluate what really matters to you.

Mars in sister Earth sign, Taurus throughout July, and from 7 August in Gemini keeps you on the move. You’re likely to find yourself handling a variety of projects, some of which may involve travel. With Jupiter going forwards too, this is a period of expansion with opportunities to spread your wings in all directions.

The New Moon on 12 August invites you to make some kind of new beginning in a personal sense; with Saturn due to enter your sign on 3 September a cycle is coming to an end, so deal with any unfinished business you don’t want to carry over.

The New Moon on 26 September is a particularly important one for you because it’s in your sign and is also an eclipse. You may be surprised at what opens up for you at this time. The new starts you make could take you far.

April, May and June 2007

Y

ou’re likely to have your hands full as this quarter opens, with things coming to a peak on both the home and career front. You’ve been on a roll since last November; now it’s time to pause and consider the gains you’ve made before you embark on phase two of the expansion plan later in the year. Meanwhile you’re approaching the end of a cycle; next quarter Saturn enters your sign, so this is a time to finish up anything you’ve begun but not yet completed.

For the first six weeks of this quarter Mars stirs things up on the relationship front: someone new may come into your life or a new chapter may open in an existing relationship. Others may challenge you but try and meet them halfway. Towards the end of June there may be a surprise development in a relationship. At the very end of May your ruling planet, Mercury enters compatible Cancer for a two–month stay, a busy period for you. June and July are months to focus on your goals in life, with the help of like–minded friends and acquaintances.

The Full Moon on 1 June may mark the moment of a private celebration for you; while the New Moon on 15 June is a cue to make a new beginning, one that may see you putting out new ideas that have long been incubating.

January, February and March 2007

A

s this quarter opens the action continues apace on the domestic front. With Jupiter reigning here for the rest of the year you may well extend your home or add to it in some other way. But the outer tends to be an expression of the inner, so this is a time of personal growth for you as well. If you’re on some kind of course, it’s likely to teach you a lot about yourself and your roots.

This is a busy quarter for you because Mercury is so active in opposite sign, Pisces. This puts the focus on relationships, both personal and with colleagues, especially with Venus and Mars travelling through this sector of your solar chart too. Between 14 February and 8 March you may find yourself working together on a project that got so far and no further earlier in the year. You may also find yourself working on your relationship! But by the end of this quarter you’re likely both to have moved on.

The spring eclipses directly affect you, falling as they do across the Virgo Pisces axis. The Full Moon on 3 March may be accompanied by deep insights into a relationship; while the New Moon on 19 March prompts you to put a partnership on a new footing. With both aligned with Jupiter and Pluto you may feel under pressure to make significant changes in your life. But in one way or another they will take you forwards.

October, November, December 2006

B

eing ruled by Mercury you tend to write, teach or do something that calls on your particular combination of analytical thinking and pragmatism. Whatever it is you’re likely to be doing a lot of it in October. From 28 October to 18 November Mercury travels backwards, indicating that you may return to a project that’s been on the back—burner. You may also take up with someone you haven’t seen for a while.

With Uranus going forwards again in opposite sign, Pisces, November’s likely to be a month that throws up a few surprises. A job or a relationship may take an unexpected turn. But you’re probably due for a change, particularly if you were born around the beginning of September.

On 24 November Jupiter takes up residence at the bottom of your solar chart; with Mars joining it and Pluto on 6 December, you can expect plenty of action on the domestic front for the remainder of this quarter and beyond. On one level this might take the form of expanding your home or the activities you carry out there; on another it signifies the beginning of a whole new cycle of personal growth.

The New Moon on 20 December is your cue to make a fresh start: be adventurous in your thinking and dare to go where you have not been before.

July, August, September 2006

J

ust as you thought you were on your way, something calls you back. That may well be the case as this quarter opens, but it’s all the better to secure the support you may need for a particular project. You’ll be going forwards with it from the end of July.

From 11 August you may find yourself ruminating on the year that’s passing and the one that begins for you with the entry of the Sun into your sign. And indeed there’s more than one cycle in your life that’s coming to an end. In about a year’s time you’re due to begin a whole new cycle; in the shorter term, with Mars in your sign, followed by the Sun, Mercury and Venus in quick succession, you’ll have a sense of renewed vigour in both your work and your relationships.

With not one, but two New Moons falling in Virgo this quarter — on 23 August and 22 September — you get two chances to make a fresh start. The decisions you take will have a far–reaching impact on the path you follow and the people who travel with you along it. The Full Moon in your opposite sign, Pisces on 7 September is likely to reveal more about the range of possibilities open to you.

April, May and June 2006

T

here’s quite an emphasis on relationships for you this quarter. As it opens you’re coming out of a period where you may have been toing and froing between partners, but Venus’ entry into your opposite sign, Pisces on 6 April should help to smooth your way with significant others. With Uranus also in Pisces long–term, they may still come and go in your life, or you in theirs, but while this can be disruptive, it’s also stimulating. This is particularly true around 19 June, especially if you were born 6–8 September.

From 14 April friends and groups of people are also likely to play a leading role in your life. You may be involved with one particular group in a teaching or learning capacity, or it may be that your social life is especially active into early June. Either way, this is a period when you can advance your goals, whatever they may be.

Your ruling planet, Mercury spends most of May at or near the top of your solar chart, an indication that you’re likely to be focused on the long–term and the direction in which you’re going. The New Moon on 27 May is a signal to begin something new on the career front, with a result due by the Full Moon on 11 June.

January, February and March 2006

2006 opens with both Venus and Mars still in sister Earth signs: Venus in Capricorn where she has been since early November and Mars in Taurus (since the end of July). By the time these two planets move on, in mid–February and early March respectively, you’re likely to have repositioned yourself within a relationship. It’s been a long haul and it has taken work, not least on yourself, but it will have been worth it.

Mars’ entry into Gemini ushers in a busy period careerwise from 18 February onwards, while Pluto continues to churn things up on the domestic front, particularly for those of you born 18–20 September. Meanwhile your ruling planet, Mercury faces backwards for most of March, suggesting you may have to retrace your steps in a project or a relationship in order the better to go forwards from 25 March.

Other dates for you to note this quarter are 28 February, when the New Moon signals a new departure in a relationship; and 14 March, when the Full Moon/lunar eclipse may reveal to you a path previously hidden from view.

There’s a lot going on, but being one of the mutable signs, you’re able to keep several balls up in the air simultaneously.

October, November and December 2005

T

he beginning of this quarter marks a key staging post on the journey you’ve been on since the end of July. From this vantage point you can survey just how far you’ve come and how much you’ve learned. For much of this quarter you’ll be assimilating this information, before resuming the journey on 10 December.

On 26 October Neptune goes forwards and Jupiter arrives in compatible Scorpio, lifting the humdrum round of life beyond the ordinary. Through the people you meet everyday you will have opportunities to explore other worlds, which will help you to look at yourself and your relationships in a new light.

If you were born at the beginning of September, you’ve probably got used by now to the unpredictable behaviour of the other people in your life, and vice versa. Around 16 November, when Uranus starts going forwards again
in your opposite sign, Pisces, either you or a significant other may make a sudden break for freedom.

On 5 November Venus moves into sister Earth sign, Capricorn: someone who comes into your life at this time may have a more important part to play in it than you realise.

Between 14 November and 4 December your ruling planet, Mercury is retrograde (backwards): while things may not go according to plan, you’re likely to uncover something that you may not have noticed before.

July, August, September 2005

B

eing an Earth sign, whatever you do tends to be governed by material considerations: is it practicable, is it cost–effective, does it make sense? Yet this quarter you may find yourself wanting to delve more into the mysteries of life and thinking along more spiritual lines. For one thing your ruling planet, Mercury spends the whole of July and August in one of the less conspicuous sectors of your solar chart, indicating that you may wish to closet yourself away in order to write or study.

On 28 July you embark on a journey, in the broadest sense, that will take you all the way up to February 2006. Of course you may literally go on a trip, but it may also be that through a course, a project or even a relationship you will learn much about yourself.

Those of you with birthdays 13–18 September in particular reach an important turning–point at the beginning of September, when you can go forward with a domestic situation that first presented itself last year.

This quarter, of course, is also the one in which your birthday falls, so take note of the New Moon in your sign on 3 September, which could be your cue to make a bid for freedom in a relationship; as well as the Full Moon in your opposite sign on 18 September, when many things will become clear to you.

April, May, June 2005

S

ince early March you’re likely to have been deeply embroiled in financial and related matters, but from 12 April, when your ruling planet, Mercury goes forwards again, your efforts to straighten things out and put partnership finances on a new footing, will begin to bear fruit. Meanwhile from 5 June, when Jupiter goes forwards in the other financial sector of your sun ‘scope, you’ll be able to proceed with plans for the next stage of expansion in your worldly affairs. This might literally mean building an extension to your home, or entering into an agreement with someone that could be to both your advantage.

On 1 May Mars arrives in your opposite sign, Pisces, where Uranus has been shaking things up since March 2003. It’s highly unlikely that your routine, especially at work, has remained unchanged and you may also have found yourself dealing with exciting, but unstable people. For those of you with birthdays at the beginning of September this current of change in your life is at its strongest around 14 June.

Other dates to note this quarter are 23 May and 6 June, when a Full and a New Moon respectively emphasise the home–work dynamic of your life. Do you have it in balance? If not you have a chance to put it to rights.

January, February and March 2005

Y

our home and family, an area of ongoing change for you, are high on the agenda as 2005 opens. Those of you with birthdays 16–18 September in particular are building to a decisive turning point towards the end of March. Anything you’re actually doing to where you live, like carrying out a major refurbishment, is likely to reflect the important changes that are taking place within; these are urging you to do something different with your life.

Early in February this activity’s likely to be at its height: thereafter you may wish to consolidate the gains you’ve made since last September and to review the progress made. With Jupiter, planet of opportunity occupying the money sector of your solar chart until the end of October, 2005 is a year that should see your bank balance swell.

24 February and 10 March are important dates for a relationship with a significant other. On the former you’ll see where you’ve got to and on the latter where you might go. Those of you with late August/early September birthdays are due for a surprise or two.

Meanwhile Mercury, the planet that rules your chart, will keep you busy from the beginning of March with assorted financial arrangements. You may also find yourself delving into books about the occult and related matters. One way or the other there’ll be enough going on to keep you interested.

October, November, December 2004

T

o a certain extent you’ve been having it all your own way, with so much planetary action in your sign; now this quarter it shifts to Libra, putting the emphasis firmly on personal finances in particular and resources in general. Your home may become a base for expanding a business and a partner may have energy as well as ideas to contribute to it. With Venus in your sign for most of October, you’ll be able to impress others with your competence and efficiency.

Uranus at a standstill in your opposite sign, Pisces puts you on your mettle in early November, when a colleague or partner may challenge your way of doing things. However those of you born towards the end of August in particular should be used to this by now, and have come to accept that not all their ideas are batty; there’s a case for change.

Your ruling planet, Mercury spends much of this quarter toing and froing in restless Sagittarius, keeping you more than usually on the move. You may find yourself handling a variety of projects and a stream of visitors could find their way to your home. On a deeper level all this activity may make you question what you’re really doing with your life. Around 20 December you may get an answer.

July, August, September 2004

S

ince last August you have been the host of fortunate Jupiter and have enjoyed many opportunities for advancement in your life. At the very end of this quarter, Jupiter moves on, but not before it’s scattered his largesse over those of you born in September. So make hay while the sun shines—it will be another 12 years before this expansive planet revisits your sign.

Meanwhile your ruling planet, Mercury moves in and out of your sign, keeping you shuttling back and forth between projects and partners. Dates to note are 10 August, when you may decide to go over ground you’ve already covered; and 2 September, when you will be on your merry way again.

30 August is another date to bear in mind. On that day not only is there a Full Moon in your opposite sign, Pisces, that falls close to unpredictable Uranus; but powerful Pluto also starts slowly moving forwards again. It’s likely to be a highly charged time emotionally, but one at which you can make a major breakthrough in your life. Two weeks later the New Moon in your sign signals the beginning of a whole new year for you. Happy New Year.
