Déjà vu

Have you ever experienced a feeling or an illusion, which you believe has already happened previously? Maybe you felt a sense of familiarity believing that this experience had 'genuinely happened' in the past. Perhaps you believed that this was a delusion attributing it to a dream?

The experience of déjà vu seems to be common. Although déjà vu has been studied for over a hundred years and researchers have suggested theories about its cause, there is no simple explanation for what it means. Science has not been able to offer an explanation, adding to the mystery. Perhaps as technology advances and we learn more about how the brain works, we will learn why we experience this phenomenon.

The feeling that something was there in our memory has fascinated us. During the experience, we feel certain that we have lived through this before but cannot remember at what point in time. Maybe we could look at this as time travel for the soul!

The week ahead

The influence of the unpredictable planet, Uranus is strong this week, as it slows down prior to going retrograde (backwards) for the next five months. Do not expect things to go according to plan; this outer planet rules the sudden and unexpected, which can be exciting but also nerve–wracking! However change is inevitable and sometimes we need to be jolted out of the situation we’re in in order to be able to move on.

There are also two changes of sign this week, with Mercury leaving its home sign of Gemini for watery Cancer, where the Messenger planet tends not to be so extrovert but lends a sympathetic ear to those in need; while Venus leaves the comfort of Taurus for airy Gemini, where the planet of love and relationships likes to chat and circulate, but is not so ready to commit.

The Moon is waxing (Full next week) and moves through the signs of Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius.
