Numerology is the study of numbers and their influence on our lives.
The significance of numbers has been recognised since ancient times. The 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet each have a specific meaning and number attributed to them and are related to the 22 paths on the Tree of Life in the ancient Jewish mystical system, the Qabalah.
Pythagoras, the Greek philosopher and mathematician, believed 10 to be a magical number because it is the result of the addition of numbers one to four, considered to be the basis of all reality. It also contains the energies of the primary numbers 1 to 9.
Galileo Galilei, the Italian astronomer and physicist, famously said, "The book of nature is written in mathematical language".
The language of numbers allows us to decode the hidden meaning of life. Phrases such as "my number’s up" or "get someone's number" reveal the connection believed to exist between numbers, character and personal destiny. The number your name or your birthdate adds up to is thought to have a bearing on these.
It is also thought to work for you, or to be lucky for you, so that if it were 2, for example, you might want to take important decisions on the 2nd of the month or any other day that adds up to that number, e.g., the 11th and 20th.
Each letter of the alphabet is ascribed a number so it is easy enough to find out your personal number. If you don’t like it, you can always change your name to an abbreviation or nickname or even drop one of your names in order to give yourself a different number. In this way you may influence the impression you make on other people as well as the course of your destiny.

How does the Tarot work?
Good question! No one really knows. However you`ll find that the more you familiarise yourself with the basic meaning and symbolism of the cards and practise reading them, the more you`ll gain confidence in interpreting them for yourself and others. Over time you`ll develop your own intuitive relationship with the cards, so that they become a mirror reflecting the inner self.
How do I learn the Tarot?
There are lots of books on the Tarot, also workshops and courses. These will help you to absorb the basic divinatory meanings of the cards, but to develop your own personal style of interpretation, you`ll need to practise working with them. Practice makes perfect!
I`ve noticed that some of your readers are also counsellors…
Yes, some of them have trained as counsellors, but you`ll find that all our readers are sensitive and empathetic and will do their best to help you with any issues that you may have.
Soon you will have the opportunity to own a copy of your personal birth chart accompanied by a natal report summarising your character traits and the main transits to your chart.
You'll also enjoy the unique chance to explore your birth chart and discuss the trends for your coming year during a special one-to-one 20-minute phone consultation with resident professional astrologer Stephanie Norris.
